people do not live on bread and butter alone.

Comments:
Just curious why it sounds so bad going to many openings. I feel bad then as I actually likes to attend openings.

well, it is primarily just a personal dislike, unaccustom to mingle in the crowd, which need one certain kind of socializing skill. I do like friends gathering, and opening is just in comparison not as free, with art being just the excuse for some other things, and I am not that keen with these other things, at least in such a way.
As Lam tung pang said, when you are doing thise extra things, you are heading towards making art as yr career. I do not believe art as career needs one to do that, or art becoming a career in this sense.

even i don't like opening (mainly cuz dead air with strangers/ppl i should know but i don't know), i still go, cuz this is almost the only time/place when/where i can meet alumni/friends/new people....update friends' status ...give name cards..allow ppl to aware of my existence...

maybe that's also why facebook is so predictably popular? (sorry, but again, I am too "out" to start try my hand with facebook, so far at least.)
